The L-46 Zebra Pleco was once very common in the aquarium trade but after much of its native habitat was destroyed by dams in Brazil importation of wild L-46 plecos into the United States is illegal. It is legal to import wild L-46 plecos into all other countries however.

The black and white contrast is what makes this pleco so remarkable. The L-46 zebra pleco is nocturnal and will try to hide during the day. AquariumFishSale sells legal captive bred specimens.
